Laser micromachined neuro coil
Resonetics' expertise in laser micromachining tiny devices is well suited to neurovascular devices, which must be especially small. Our capabilities in laser cutting and skiving are used in the fabrication of these devices.
The interventional neurology market includes embolization coils and stents for the repair of intracranial aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations, carotid artery stents, cerebral embolectomy/thrombectomy devices and neuroendoscopy systems.
In the brain, the vasculature is much smaller than the coronary system, necessitating the use of lasers to cut small coils, stents and stent grafts and laser skive and trim catheters. In some designs, lasers can also be used to selectively remove polymer coatings from coil assemblies or delivery components.
